WordPress Hosting

WordPress, kept current and kept quick.

WordPress runs a large share of the web, which also makes it the most attacked software on it. Almost every hacked site we're called about was running a plugin nobody had updated in a year, on a host that took a backup it had never tried to restore. We do the unglamorous half: update on a staging copy, cache properly, scan weekly, and keep a restore point that works.

What You Get

The parts that decide whether it holds up.

Cached The Right Way

LiteSpeed page cache and object caching configured per site, so pages come off the server already built rather than being assembled per visitor.

Staging Before Live

A copy of the site to try things on. Changes are made there, checked, and then pushed — nothing is experimented with in front of your customers.

Updates, Staged Not Sprayed

Core, theme and plugin updates applied on staging first and checked before they reach the live site. On Managed plans that's a monthly job we own.

Locked Down By Default

Login rate limiting, file permissions set properly, XML-RPC closed, and a firewall in front of it all — before anyone goes looking for a way in.

WooCommerce Ready

Cart and checkout excluded from the cache, cron handled at the server, and local payment gateways configured so orders don't hang.

Restored In Minutes

Daily off-site backups with a tested restore path, so a bad plugin update is a phone call and a coffee rather than a rebuild.

The maintenance nobody remembers to do.

Managed WordPress on local servers — staged updates, caching, malware scanning and restores that work.

A WordPress site is not finished when it launches — it's a living install of thirty-odd pieces of other people's software, each of which will ask to be updated. Left alone for a year it becomes both slow and a liability. Left to us it stays boring, which is the highest compliment you can pay a website.

What we handle for you

  • Core, theme and plugin updates, tested on staging
  • PHP kept on a supported version
  • Weekly malware and file-integrity scanning
  • Database cleanup — revisions, transients, orphaned rows
  • Cache and image optimisation tuned per site
  • Broken plugin rollback, without losing content
  • A quarterly performance report on Managed plans

Questions

Before you move over.

Switching hosts sounds like a big job. It usually isn't — we do the moving.

Will updates break my site?

That is exactly why they go onto the staging copy first. If an update breaks something we find it there, and either fix it or hold the update and tell you why. A site that breaks in front of customers is a process failure, not bad luck.

Do you work with page builders?

Yes. Elementor Pro, Divi, Gutenberg and the usual theme frameworks all run fine, and we hold our own Elementor Pro licence. Builders are heavy, so the caching setup matters more on them than on a hand-built theme.

Can you host a WooCommerce store?

Yes, and it's worth saying up front that a busy store belongs on a VPS rather than a shared plan. Below roughly a few dozen orders a day the Business or Managed plan is comfortable; above that we'd rather move you than watch checkout slow down.

My site has been hacked. Can you help?

Yes. We'll clean it, patch what let them in and get it back online, then move it onto a plan where it's scanned and backed up. Recovery on a site we don't host is quoted as a once-off piece of work before we start.

Do I still get access to the admin?

Of course — it's your site. You keep the administrator account and carry on publishing. What we take over is the server-side and the update cycle, not your content.
